Hospital Visiting
It is customary to let the priests know by letter or via the Parish Office the
details of any parishioner in a local hospital for more than a few days so that
visits can be made if requested. Names are added to the Sick List for regular
prayer if requested.
If you are admitted to hospital as a patient please make sure you or somebody
lets the priests know, either through the Parish Office or a note through the
Presbytery door.
Because of the Data Protection Act, the hospital only records a patient's
religion and only notes a patient's specific request that the Chaplaincy Team
and the Roman Catholic Chaplin be informed when specifically asked to do so.
The same procedure should be followed on behalf of children or those who are
unconscious when admitted to hospital.
