Parish Lent Course – Tuesdays in Lent
  “Seven Deadly Sins, Seven Lively Virtues”
7:30pm light Supper, 8:00pm DVD followed by discussion, 9:00pm end, in the Parish Centre, beginning on Tuesday 7th March.
Join Bishop Robert Barron for his engaging presentation on the seven deadly sins, the spiritual blocks that inhibit our relationship with God and one another.  They are presented as patterns of dysfunction within us that lead to unhappiness.  However, Bishop Barron shows us how to counteract these sins through their opposite ‘seven lively virtues’, which offer antidotes to each sin and help set us on the right path to healing and happiness.

Place your CAFOD donation in the CAFOD envelope and put it in the second collection on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March.

Saturday 11th March Children’s First Penance at 10:00am and 11.15am at St Thomas’s
The children on this year’s First Holy Communion programme will experience the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Their parents will also be making their Confessions, and there will be a number of visiting priests as well as Frs David and Paul.
Saturday 11th/12th March Loaves and Fishes Food Bank

The Mass “source and summit of the Christian life”

The same thing twice, to enable as many people as possible to attend. Come if you possibly can, to learn more about the Mass and what the various parts mean. This will count as the annual Day of Recollection for Extra-ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and will be of particular interest to all who read at Mass, catechists, musicians and Altar servers.

Sunday 9th April

The SVP Lenten Copper Collection – Palm Sunday, 9th April
will be in aid of the SVP work in Sudan and S. Sudan. The SVP is operating in the camp for displaced people in Mahat which is home to 9,000 people. It also implements vocational training initiatives and runs baby feeding centres for the severely malnourished children. Please save your small change during Lent and bring it in to the Masses on Palm Sunday 9th April. Many thanks.
